Definition
The wedding party (also called the bridal party) consists of the bridesmaids, groomsmen, maid/matron of honor, best man, flower girl(s), and ring bearer(s) who stand with the couple during the ceremony and participate in wedding events. Members of the wedding party typically help with planning, attend the rehearsal dinner, and may have financial responsibilities like purchasing their attire. Modern wedding parties can include people of any gender on either side.
